Laura Lawson

Formally known as Laura Black, Laura began her career in Hong Kong where she was the anchorwomen and newsreader for Radio Television Hong Kong. She moved from radio to voice over work for Star TV fronting ASIA SPORTS. On her return to Britain, Laura worked at ESPN, voice-overing SPORTS CENTRE. Whilst there, she began to establish herself as a character comedienne on the comedy circuit, forming a double act, McCloud and Black, that went on to perform at three Edinburgh festivals and numerous comedy venues receiving huge audience and critical acclaim.

Two years ago Laura formed the first sketch comedy show for kids with Feri Tezcan. Together they have performed two sell out Edinburgh shows and a UK tour.  They also appear regularly with James Campbell, at the Menier Theatre, London.

Laura has also written and performed in the CBBC sketch show STITCH UP, written for BBC's, COMEDY SHUFFLE and appeared in two series of THE BEST OF KATY BRAND (World's End Television for ITV).

She took the only ever adult sketch show with a cast of 13 year olds to the fringe entitled, SCHOOL OF COMEDY - YOUR MOTHER WOULDN'T LIKE IT" which received such rave reviews that Channel 4 commissioned a Comedy Lab with Left Bank Films.  They are currently making their second series for E4!
